Why You Should Look at Boats for Sale in the Winter

During the winter months, boat buying is usually pretty far from people's minds. Some may think there aren’t as many boats for sale at this time of year, or others might simply be caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Either way, it's worth noting that there are plenty of high-quality boats for sale during the winter, and if you’re looking for a great deal, the dead of winter is the perfect time to find great boat prices.

Here are a few reasons why winter boat shopping is pretty great ...

Next Year's Models are Coming Out

Whether you're searching online or heading to a boat show, you'll start seeing next year's models during the winter months. For instance, the Minneapolis Boat Show, which runs from January 11-14, 2018 will be showing the newest models for 2018. In case you're wondering, it'll be at the Minneapolis Convention Center, and yes, Miller Marine will be there.

Even though we'll be months away from open water, we’ll be giving a glimpse of some of the best and newest boats we have to offer from top manufacturers like Bennington, Smoker Craft, and Starcraft.

Looking at next year's models gives you a good idea of what’s available with the newest boats, and it also lets you consider which features you'll want in the summer. Sometimes the best way to know what you want is to step inside a huge variety of boats.

This Year's Boat Prices Drop

74-390831-edited.jpgWhen next year's models come out, the previous year’s boats drop in price. There are two main reasons why this happens:

  1. The previous year models aren't the newest available anymore.
  2. Space needs to be made in the showroom for the new models.

Because of this, buyers have the opportunity to pay even less for a new boat or pontoon when they shop in the winter.

Time is on Your Side

One of the best things about buying a boat in the winter is that time is on your side. You have a few months before you'll actually be out on the water, so there's no rush. You have all the time you need to shop at your own pace and to actually get your new boat.

When you shop at Miller Marine, you don't have to brave the cold winter weather in order to shop, either. Our indoor showroom allows you to shop in comfort year-round. Plus, if you need to special order a boat with customizations or special features, ordering in the winter ensures you won't miss time out on the water waiting for your perfect boat or pontoon to arrive.

We hope you’ve found this helpful, and we’ll see you in the showroom!
